News from Virtual Thursdays at GSFE Angeline Benjamin By Angeline Benjamin, Director Our Virtual network meeting through zoom on First Thursday afternoon, March 4th, 2021 at noon PST was well attended. We were excited to have Robbie Motter joining us at the meeting. We got a chance to sing and wish her a very happy birthday. Her birthday which is March 8th, is the same date as International Women’s Day! Last month, we had 3 new members, Angelique MacArthur, Barbara J. Hopkinson, and Kimberly Renee joined the First Thursday Virtual GSFE group. Welcome to GSFE. I want to thank Robbie Motter who has helped us recruited them to join GSFE. Mimi Donaldson, a superstar in the speaking business, keynoting with celebrities for audience of thousands was our speaker at this meeting. Her topic was: “Be Pitch Perfect Anytime, How Speaking Up Can Grow Your Business.” We enjoyed her motivating presentation which is designed to improve of we present ourselves virtually. Some of her powerful messages are: • Use your energy in positive ways to burn off nervousness, to be your best on the screens of Zoom and other platforms • Let other introduce you • Have top notch equipment (computer, camera, etc.) • Make sure you are not providing a distraction to your audience with your appearance • Pay attention to your background – it should be centered • Mimi provided us the 7 simple steps as described in her latest book: “Pitch Perfect: Speak to Grow Your Business in 7 simple steps.” This month, we are excited to introduce our new Virtual First Thursday GSFE member, Angelique MacArthur from West Chester, PA, who joined us in March. Let’s welcome her to be part of our GSFE sisterhood. Angelique MacArthur Angelique MacArthur is a Lifestyle Coach for millennial women hailing from Markham, Ontario, Canada (just outside of Toronto). At age 30 she entered a period of anxiety and confusion surrounding transition into adulthood, and as she worked through it her passion for helping other millennial women grow their confidence in adulting expanded.
