Lady Lady is inspired by the great style icons - Coco Chanel, the Duchess of Windsor, Diana Vreeland and many others. Charming, witty, intelligent, they created unique personal styles, with European, Latin, Oriental influences. Roberto’s Lady wears a necklace with eyes protecting and blessing and her overlapping faces speak to her ambiguous personality. Lady is a rich and evocative work, her elongated face with brilliant eyes echoing the sensuous elegance of Modiligiani, who was deeply impressed with the Egyptian sculptures in the Louvre which he transalated into his unique idiom, but the background of the young Leonardo Da Vinci’s brilliant paintings ‘<strong>The</strong> Annunciation’ and the ‘Madonna of the Rocks’, brings to mind the most famous of all faces of ambiguity - the Mona Lisa. <strong>The</strong> exquisite confluence of past and present gives Lady a mysterious and mystical resonance.
