Meeting Face to Face
Approaching The Rock from the
Spanish Mainland is indeed
an awe-inspiring experience.
It looms large, its impressive Peak
sometimes crowned by cloud (like a veil).
families (although in reality it is).
This is not a meeting between two
cultures (although in reality it is).
This is a confrontation between two
species of animal, which somehow does
not feel antagonistic; rather, there is
mutual curiosity and recognition of rights
to co-exist on this
