Marriage is not about being on an ego<br />
trip <strong>and</strong> it is not about a power struggle.<br />
If marriage has turned into that, ask<br />
yourself why? Marriage was all about<br />
love, companionship <strong>and</strong> sharing......<br />
have those words disappeared from<br />
your relationship? Can you bring them<br />
back? The answer is YES, but you have to<br />
WANT to.<br />
Do you know what your needs are? Do<br />
you know what the needs of your partner<br />
are?? When you have the answers to that<br />
question, set goals <strong>and</strong> work towards<br />
meeting those needs....every one of those<br />
needs is a goal to meet.<br />
Sometimes in life to get what you need<br />
you have to give what you have. Read<br />
that again!! So many of us “shut up<br />
shop” <strong>and</strong> stop giving. What can be the<br />
only possible result there?? Frustration,<br />
resentment, withdrawal, closure........then<br />
we go on, living from day to day trapped<br />
in a relationship that is meaningless <strong>and</strong><br />
unfulfilling.<br />
For those of you who have read my articles<br />
before you must know what I am going<br />
to say! .......YOU are in control! You can<br />
make or break any situation in your life<br />
by the way you h<strong>and</strong>le it <strong>and</strong> by the way<br />
you react towards it. If something is not<br />
working the way you think it should,<br />
ask yourself if you are being realistic? If<br />
not, change the goalposts! Stop thinking<br />
its your way or the highway!!....there are<br />
TWO of you in this situation, not just one!!<br />
Two points of view, two personalities to<br />
take into consideration.<br />
Achieving change <strong>and</strong> success in this may<br />
be hard, but its not impossible! Its up to<br />
you to evaluate the situation you are in<br />
<strong>and</strong> do what you can to make a difference.<br />
