The summer atmosphere
is fantastic and really
pleasing to know that
businesses are opening again
and everyone can start to enjoy
this season’s warm months.
The sun is a fabulous source of
vitamin D, it makes you feel happy and
relaxed but too much of a good thing really
can be dangerous! So always wear a hat,
put on some sunscreen, sunglasses and sip
that, yes, water! There are also wristbands
you can wear, that helps keep your body
from overheating and also pillows to
cool you whilst sleeping. Also beware of
the “downsides”; yes too much sun, not
enough drinking water and too much
alcohol, all can spoil your day. Although
“al fresco” eating on the lovely summer
days and evenings can be quite relaxing
and enjoyable.
What is special about the month of July is
it was named by a Roman Senate in honour
of the infamous Roman general, Julius
Caesar as July is the month of his birth.
Prior to this time, it was called Quintilis.
July’s birthstone is the ruby, which
symbolises contentment. Its birth flowers
are the Larkspur or the Water Lily.
July is a pretty unique month, being
known for the month in which a grand total
of seven US Presidents have died in – more
than any other month – and also known
for being the midway point of the year.
However, July the 3rd is the year’s midway
point, not July the 1st.
The two zodiac signs associated with
the month of July are Cancer and Leo.
People born from July 1st to July 22nd are
members of the Cancer zodiac sign and can

be identified by their emotional
and intimate nature. Cancer is
a receptive and highly sensitive
sign, capable of huge empathy
giving oodles of love, care and
reassurance when required. Leos are
affectionate, warm and cheerful people
and can be counted on to bring sunshine
into other people’s lives. Dignified, playful,
ambitious and loyal, they’re known for
being exceptionally generous.
Normally there are many fiestas locally in
July but all has changed this year due to the
Corona Virus.
