For 35 years, Lesley Taylor and the team at
New Image in Sheffield has been keeping the
women of South Yorkshire and beyond looking
and feeling fabulous with their ever-changing
collections of occasion and casual wear.
The business was launched
in 1986 by Lesley’s mum Jean on
Middlewood Road in Hillsborough
just behind the football stadium.
Three years later, having built up a
good clientele and with Lesley now
working alongside her mum, New
Image relocated just a few doors up
to a larger premises that was fully
refurbished by Lesley’s husband
and his hardworking team.
Sadly, not long after the move
Jean passed away aged just 55.
New Image had been her dream, yet
she never had the chance to see the
new store in all its glory. Determined
to carry on her mum’s vision, Lesley
took over the reins of the business
and it has continued to thrive ever
since with a loyal customer base,
regular fashion shows, and coffee
mornings to support Macmillan.
Their signature style has
always been heavily influenced
by European fashion houses, but
over the years it has progressed
to incorporate quality brands from
around the world with beautifully
made clothing from the likes
of Joseph Ribkoff and Scottish
brand Marble.
In 2007, the shop had another
facelift to create an upper sales floor
area which allowed the business to
further evolve with the addition of
occasion wear. They now have one
of the area’s largest collections of
special occasion wear from leading
designers such as Condici, Veni
Infantino, Ispirato and Carla Ruiz.
Whether you are looking for
an outfit for a wedding, day at the
races, cruise or just to update your
everyday wardrobe, New Image
never fails to help you achieve
your desired look. Over the years
they have dressed thousands of
ladies, from mothers of the bride
and groom to the High Sheriff and
Mistress Cutler. So you can always

seamstress instore who ensures
every item purchased is the perfect
fit. And to top it off, a collection of
matching headpieces, handbags
and shoes means you can complete

Throughout the last 35 years,
Lesley has been supported by a
wonderful team of staff, both past
and present, who have all embraced
the New Image ethos of delivering
exceptional personal service to all
their clients. Looking ahead to 2022,
New Image continues to be a safe
retail space where ladies can see,
feel and try before they buy.
