Dear Reader
Anew year calls for a new start,
with new hope for the months
ahead. As ever, we will strive to
bring a little sunshine into your lives by
sharing some positivity and inspiration.
One event we’re looking forward to over the new
couple of months is the return of the Rotherham
Real Ale and Music Festival for a chance to have a
great time for a good cause.
We feel very privileged that we have the chance
to meet some amazing people from our region
and our meeting with Dame Hilary Chapman
is testimony to this. Having just taken over
her honorary role as Lord-Lieutenant of South
Yorkshire, and despite a very busy schedule, she
took the time to meet us and share her remarkable
journey and career in nursing.
Throughout the pandemic many local groups
haven’t been able to meet and it’s great that
they are now starting to have socially distanced
gatherings again. They provide the opportunity
for people to get out with everything from walking
groups to craft classes all for a nominal fee, and
in some cases even free. No one should be lonely
and l hope you are encouraged to join.
It was lovely to attend a family wedding at the
end of last year that had been cancelled numerous
times. I hope for many couples this year their
weddings can go ahead, too. If you are planning
your big day make sure you look for inspiration in
our bridal feature.
We are very much looking forward to producing
our usual six editions this year and if you have
something to share please get in touch and we will
work our magic.
