Risingholme Courses
Risingholme is back with even more diverse,
learner-centred, fun, and engaging courses to help you
progress in Term 3. Risingholme has over 78 years of
experience delivering adult community education and
activities throughout Christchurch at multiple locations.
Annually, we offer over 320 courses from arts and
crafts, fabric, including sewing, woodwork, languages
(including Te Reo Māori and NZSL), pottery, business,
wellbeing and health to over 2400 learners. Our faceto-face
courses are accessible to all adults 16 years and
over. Our courses not only provide skills and knowledge
but also provides social opportunities, and connects our
community.
Whether you are looking to learn new skills for
enjoyment or employment, or you want to upskill and
don’t have the time (or funds) for traditional tertiary
study – Risingholme has got your back! By doing
a Risingholme course, you’ll improve your
wellbeing, learn practical new skills, and upgrade
your life by taking on an enjoyable challenge.
Each term at Risingholme we offer over 90+
short courses and weekend workshops in so
many areas that can not only fit around your life,
but better it!
Risingholme is still a huge advocate of face-toface
learning, and the advantages of face-to-face
learning at Risingholme include:

learning opportunities away from the
distractions of home.

understanding through stories and real-world
examples from your tutor and other learners.
