A venue for every occasion<br />
In <strong>Selwyn</strong>, we’re fortunate to have<br />
a great range of venues suitable for<br />
hosting corporate events, functions and<br />
workshops. From old heritage style halls<br />
to modern community centres, there are<br />
plenty of options.<br />
For character and modern practicality<br />
the Lakeside Memorial Hall and<br />
Dunsandel Community Centre were<br />
both winners in the 2019 Canterbury<br />
Architecture Awards. The Lakeside<br />
Soldiers Memorial Hall, built in 2018 to<br />
replace the former earthquake-damaged<br />
hall, retains original features from its<br />
1917 predecessor such as the fireplace<br />
and an open sky courtyard at the heart of<br />
the building which is paved with bricks<br />
recovered from the original hall.<br />
The Dunsandel Community Centre<br />
combines award-winning architecture<br />
with a flexible modern space featuring<br />
smaller meeting rooms and larger venue<br />
spaces that can open up into one big<br />
space catering for up to 200 people.<br />
Directly in front of the Darfield<br />
Domain, lies the Darfield Community<br />
and Recreation Centre. This double<br />
storey building has seven bookable<br />
rooms for all kinds of events. With a<br />
kitchen downstairs and one upstairs,<br />
no matter which room you book, you’ll<br />
be sorted for all your catering needs.<br />
An upstairs meeting room also has<br />
a balcony overlooking the domain<br />
providing a great indoor outdoor flow<br />
for your corporate event.<br />
West Melton Community and<br />
Recreation Centre is the hub of West<br />
Melton (just 15 minutes from the<br />
airport). The building features a full<br />
sized sprung timber sports floor,<br />
suitable for most indoor sports,<br />
functions or events, a carpeted lounge<br />
with a capacity of up to 100 people, a<br />
commercial grade kitchen and smaller<br />
affordable community meeting room<br />
spaces with plenty of parking.<br />
The Rolleston Community Centre<br />
is the perfect place to host corporate<br />
events or meetings. The stadium has<br />
capacity for up to 600 people, but the<br />
Centre also has smaller spaces available<br />
Lincoln Event Centre<br />
for functions. Featuring a well-equipped<br />
kitchen and bar, this multipurpose<br />
venue has onsite parking and is in close<br />
proximity to Rolleston’s new town<br />
centre.<br />
Translated into the unobstructed<br />
trail to the world and beyond, Te<br />
Ara Ātea resembles its meaning<br />
through the many different spaces<br />
and opportunities it offers in the heart<br />
of Rolleston’s town centre. Inside<br />
the building is a modern library, a<br />
tamariki space, a café, historical and<br />
taonga displays and several bookable<br />
spaces for meetings, presentations and<br />
performances.<br />
One of Lincoln’s pride and joys, the<br />
Lincoln Event Centre is a modern, state<br />
of the art venue great for hosting your<br />
corporate events. Several rooms can be<br />
booked, with the venue hosting four<br />
kitchens, portable and inbuilt staging.<br />
Located at Rhodes Park, the modern<br />
Tai Tapu Community Centre built in<br />
2018 has a variety of bookable venue<br />
spaces for a range of group events.<br />
With parking and a kitchen onsite, one<br />
of its key features is two flexible spaces<br />
that can open up into one large space,<br />
catering for a capacity of up to 550<br />
people.<br />
