Day 1: Arrive in Perugia
Fly to Rome and transfer to Perugia staying 6
nights at Hotel San Gallo Palace. (N)
Day 2: Perugia
Enjoy a morning walking tour of Perugia, the
capital of Umbria. Highlights include the city’s
ancient walls and the Rocca Paolina fortress.
Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 3: Half-day tour of Assisi
Embark on a half-day tour of Assisi, including
the 13th-century Basilica di San Francesco,
built to house the body of Italy’s patron saint,
Francis of Assisi. After lunch, visit Casa del
Cioccolato and sample some of Italy’s finest
chocolate. Return to Perugia late afternoon. (B)
Day 4: Day at leisure
Today, you are free to enjoy Umbria’s charming
capital at leisure. (B)
Day 5: Trasimeno Lake & cookery class
Transfer to beautiful Trasimeno Lake for a
lesson in Italian cuisine and traditional cooking.
Your class is followed by a three-course lunch
with wine. In the afternoon, stop in Castiglione
del Lago before returning to the hotel. (B, L)
Day 6: Bevagna, Spello & Montefalco
Visit three of Umbria’s most historic towns:
Bevagna, famous for its medieval workshops;
Spello, with its medieval walls built atop
Roman foundations; and Montefalco, known
as ‘the balcony of Umbria’ for its stunning
views. (B)
Day 7: Fly to London (B)
Saint Francis Basilica, Assisi, Umbria
