Day 1: Fly to Ljubljana<br />
Morning flight from London (regional<br />
connections available) to Ljubljana. Transfer to<br />
the Best Western Hotel Slon <strong>for</strong> the duration<br />

Day 2: Tour of Old Town & Ljubljana Castle<br />
Enjoy a morning tour of the Slovenian capital.<br />
Begin with the masterworks of architect Jože<br />
Plecnik, whose impact upon the city’s aesthetic<br />
character was significant. Next, stroll around<br />
the Central Market with your guide, sampling<br />
tasty seasonal produce be<strong>for</strong>e a boat ride<br />
on Ljubljanica river. The tour finishes with a<br />
funicular ride to visit Ljubljana castle. (B)<br />
Day 3: Explore Slovenia's famous lakes<br />
Embark on a full-day excursion to Slovenia’s<br />
two most famous lakes. At Bohinj, there is time<br />
<strong>for</strong> a boat ride and cable car ride to the summit<br />
of Mount Vogel <strong>for</strong> lunch. The afternoon is<br />
spent at Lake Bled and includes a private boat<br />
ride to Bled Island and a chance to sample the<br />

Day 4: Day at leisure<br />
Spend a free day enjoying Ljubljana, or explore<br />
further afield, perhaps with an excursion to the<br />
wine region of Goriška Brda or the Venetian<br />

Day 5: Urban beekeeping tour &<br />
rooftop drinks<br />
Slovenia has produced some of the world’s<br />
most celebrated honey since prehistoric times.<br />
Today the capital is home to 4,500 hives. Take a<br />
tour and learn about the history of apiculture,<br />
be<strong>for</strong>e heading to the rooftops to see some of<br />
the hives and enjoy honey tasting. (B)<br />
Day 6: Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle &<br />
Lipica Stud Farm<br />
Spend a full day in the west of Slovenia,<br />
including a tour of the magical Postojna Cave<br />
complex. Continue to the famous Lipica Stud<br />

Ljubljana<br />
Day 7: Fly to London<br />
Transfer back to Ljubljana airport and fly to<br />
