Day 1: Fly to Nairobi<br />
Fly from London (regional connections<br />
available) to Nairobi. Transfer to the Tamarind<br />
Tree Hotel (or similar) <strong>for</strong> the night. (N)<br />
Day 2: Aberdare National Park<br />
Leave Nairobi <strong>for</strong> the Aberdare region, known<br />
as the place where a young Queen Elizabeth<br />
first learnt she had ascended to the throne.<br />
Lunch at Aberdare Country Club, then proceed<br />
to Aberdare National Park <strong>for</strong> wildlife viewing<br />
en route to your lodge. One of the country’s<br />
oldest reserves, this park safeguards rare<br />
alpine <strong>for</strong>ests featuring centuries-old cedars<br />
and camphors. It is home to African elephants,<br />
black rhinos, spotted hyenas, leopards,<br />
colobus monkeys and many more creatures<br />
worth looking out <strong>for</strong>. Overnight at The Ark<br />

Days 3 & 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy<br />
Go on safari in Ol Pejeta, a pristine ‘Big<br />
Five’ conservation area home to a variety<br />
of rare species, such as black and white<br />
rhinos, African wild dogs and Grevy’s zebras.<br />
Optional activities include birdwatching, lion<br />
tracking, community tours, and a visit to<br />
the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Stay 2 nights at<br />

Day 5: Lake Naivasha<br />
Drive south of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift<br />
Valley, and visit the Elsamere Conservation<br />
Centre. This was the retirement home of<br />
naturalist Joy Adamson, who famously<br />
described her experience raising Elsa the lion<br />
cub in Born Free. Enjoy an in<strong>for</strong>mative video<br />
on Adamson, sample special Kenyan teas,<br />
and explore the museum. Overnight at Lake<br />
