There’s no room
for any lowering of
standards, says
Anel Ahmedhodžić, if
United are to give Premier
League Tottenham a run
for their money in
the FA Cup.
After two uncharacteristic
performances defensively
by the team against
Middlesbrough and Millwall,
United were back to their
stoic best at the weekend
as Paul Heckingbottom’s
side defeated Watford at
Bramall Lane.
With Premier League
high flyers Spurs in town,
Anel knows anything
short of their best will
be punished by a potent
attack which boasts the

likes of Harry Kane and Son
Heung-min amongst others.
He said: “I see this as just
another big game for us
and I need to go out there
and do my best.
“Of course, the mistakes
you make will be even
more punishable because
of the quality of players
they have.
“The biggest difference
is that you have to stay
concentrated all of the time
because if you switch off for
one second, they will run,
shoot and score.
“If we can win this game,
of course it’ll give us a lot
of confidence but as I see
it, it is another game and
another chance to win a
game, and I love winning
games. It’s a big game
and a good chance to see
where we are at.”
With United edging a
close game with Watford
at the weekend, a packed
Bramall Lane was crucial in
helping Heckingbottom’s
side over the line.
Anel believes the Blades
supporters will be crucial
again if United are to
spring an FA Cup shock
and reach the sixth round
of the competition, and
whilst it was a good win at
the weekend, he continues
to look at the campaign
game-by-game.
He added: “The
atmosphere is a big thing.
The atmosphere against
Watford was really good
and it puts a lot of pressure
on the teams who come
here, and it makes the
game much better for us.
“We’re going well, and
it could become a great
season but if we look too
far forward it can all be
taken away. The most
important thing we can do
is just focus on the game
that’s coming, if we focus
on anything else, it won’t
be good. We’ll take it
game-by-game and when
it comes to the end of the
season, then we can look
back.”
