Chris recalls: “Before this game
and the corresponding fixture,
we’ve always been in the game
and pushed them all the way.
I honestly remember very little
about this one, although I seem
to think their third goal was a
fantastic individual effort, that
was one of the best goals I’ve
seen from a visiting player at
Bramall Lane. This type of game
was the story of our relegation
season really, when the likes of
Spurs ‘turn up’ it proves difficult,
we couldn’t buy a win really and
with no crowd to cheer us on
it was a real slog when you fell
behind. The struggle by this point
was real, we’d only just won our
first game of the season a few
days before and although we
won a few in quick succession,
including at Old Trafford, we were
rock bottom and chasing every
game. Having said that, we’ve
always fancied ourselves against
Tottenham in my time here for
some reason.”
