FINE ARTS SOCIETY
Furthering their goal of art education, the group collaborates with
local colleges to provide artwork for students to interpret. They
also partner with the school district to conduct student art shows.
Overall, the society strives to bring a culture of creativity to
the city.
“We give Warner Robins the opportunity to see the fine arts, not
just the crafts,” Griffin said. “Because there’s a lot of crafts that
are going on, and this is the fine arts.”
“Everything here is original,” Wallace added.
“This is like a little museum here in Warner Robins,” Griffin replied.
They bring a culture of collaboration within their society as well,
inviting artists to gather and bounce ideas off of each other.
“With this area here, they’re allowed to come here, paint and talk
to each other, mingle and chat about random stuff. Could be art,
but could be anything,” Wallace said.
“It’s like how the painters in the Impressionist Period used to do,”
Griffin added. “They would meet at cafés and talk art. It’s a brain
trust so we can share our enthusiasm and build enthusiasm.”
Over the years, the gallery has become a mainstay in the heart of
the community and the hearts of the people that they have met
over the years, and those they will meet in the future.
Griffin said, “I’m proud of our record, that we’ve managed to help.
That’s essentially what it is. We help people, we love people.”
