WARNER ROBINS LITTLE THEATRE / PERRY PLAYERS COMMUNITY THEATRE / CENTER STAGE FOR CHRIST / THE MUSE
HOUSTON COUNTY
A COMMUNITY OF THEATRE
Warner Robins Little Theatre
STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY TYLER MEISTER
When you picture in your mind the things that make up Houston
County, what do you imagine?
Maybe you think of the various roads that we all consider main
thoroughfares: Highway 41, Watson Boulevard, Highway 96,
Russell Parkway. Maybe you think of a business, a park or a
specific group of people. Robins Air Force Base or even the
Houston County School District are strong contenders as well.
But the creatively inclined know that Houston County is a place
of art. Murals and art pieces dot the landscape, and Houston
County can lay claim to not one, not two, not even three, but
four community theatres.
These theatres, some new, some old, are points of culture in
Houston County. They tell stories they believe will draw an
audience, and one day the records of their shows could help
those in the future to better understand us today.
If you’re looking to take in a little of that culture, here’s what
you need to know:
Warner Robins Little Theatre is Houston County’s oldest, currently
operational center for performing arts. Vice President Bill Felton
told us all about it.
“We started back in the early 60s,” Felton said. “It started with
a group of people who met in the living room of Cheryl Bayer
