United Women are looking to
round off the Women’s
Championship season on a high
with the final game of the campaign
coming up tomorrow against
Southampton.
Jonathan Morgan’s side have found
their form in recent weeks after picking
up three wins on the spin against Bristol
City, Coventry United and Sunderland,
with the Blades comfortably sealing their
Championship status for another season.
The Blades have also been free scoring,
netting eight goals in their last two games.
Ahead of tomorrow’s finale against the
Saints, Morgan said: “I said to the girls that
results have gone our way with Blues and
Durham, hopefully they’ll draw on the final
day of the season.
“If we can beat Southampton, then we
can pick up that seventh place which
I don’t think anyone would have expected
that five weeks ago. If that happens, we’ll
be really pleased.
“We’ll train hard, focus on what we need
to for Southampton and look to spoil their
final game of the season in their stadium.”
