play in the final third.

the Republic of Ireland at under-21
level and he has relished the chance
to prove his worth as a first team
performer during a loan spell from
Everton.

Cannon has taken the chance to
prove he is ready for first team duty
with some fine performances in
Preston colours and his performances
have earned praise from boss
Ryan Lowe.
“Tom is just relishing it and every
opportunity he gets with us, he
absolutely loves it and adores it,” said
Lowe. “Ultimately, he is not our player,
but we’d love to potentially take Tom
back again next season.
“There will probably now be another
20 Championship clubs who’ll want
to do the same thing and I don’t think
there is much loyalty in football, but
let’s see what is possible.
“All we can do is do our best with
him, and if there’s an opportunity for
him to come back then we’ll definitely
be open to it.”
Cannon has made two Premier
League appearances for his parent
club Everton and has fired eight
goals in 18 appearances since
moving to Preston in the January
transfer window.
