Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 22
HAVE WE LOST THE
PLOT?
Nasreen Pritchard
Have we lost the plot?
And if so… the Plot of which or even better WHO’S’
story?
I love to play with words. Their origins, multiple
meanings, intentions…
It’s been on my mind a lot that we may have borne the
brunt of this phrase in society.
A lot like ‘mid-life crisis’, it’s not that helpful… and can
be harmful.
Lucky for us, Joseph Campbell so beautifully offered
an alternative ‘mid-life awareness’ in The Hero’s
Journey.
ANY period of such strong change deserves to be held
and supported.
Maybe some of our resistance and discomfort to
change has significance to how far we have travelled
away from our true selves, our True Nature.
We are Nature
And so, it is true, we are nothing BUT change. We
exist on the Earth, and we are OF the Earth!
Our bEARTHdays are celebrations of this!
I guess a ‘plot change’ shakes us up for many reasons.
We might hear phrases like ‘I never saw that coming’
or ‘you’d never believe’ or even ‘I’ve/they’ve definitely
lost the plot!’
