I’mnot surewhere to startwith this one.
The trailer shows acast of talking dogs,
but believe me, this is not one for the
kids to watch.
Will Forte plays a horrible man who
really dislikes his dog, Reggie, and tries
to rid himself ofhim with along game
of fetch. While trying to find his way
home, Reggie meets agroup of dogs
who befriend him and go on ajourney
of revenge.
With the cast being mainly dogs,
expecttohear talk ofsniffingbacksides,
eating disgusting things, ‘making love’
with inanimate objects, and peeing
on everything. It’s different, this one;
entertaining but in acringey way.
Second bridge commitment
BY JONATHANLEASK
Local democracy reporter
Both major political parties have now
committed to building asecond
Ashburton bridge but alongtime
advocate for the project isn’t
convinced the best location will be
chosen.
Labour announced on Thursday
the second bridge is one of 14 key
strategic projects in its government
policy statement for land transport
(GPS), which Waka Kotahi will
consider as it develops its next
10year National Land Transport
Plan.
Labour has promised to fully fund
the project.
Former twoterm councillor
Dianne Rawlinson (pictured) is wary
of the political commitments to build
abridge “being nonspecific about
where”.
“I have the strong feeling they will
take the most financially practical
option rather than the best option.
And no matter what option, Istill
foresee an issue with the existing
bridge in the nottoodistant future.”
Rawlinson has long supported a
second SH1 bridge option, and was a
major objector to the Chalmers Ave
option.
She has conceded if governmentis
paying for it, she doesn’t carewhere it
goes if it means it will finally get built.
“I still don’tpersonallybelieve
[ChalmersAve] is the best option but
if the funding is made available I
wouldn’t argue with it.”
As far as Mayor Neil Brown is
concerned,Chalmers Ave is the only
option.
“They are callingitaSH1 project
but it will be built downChalmers
Ave.That’s where the business case
saysand Waka Kotahi supported the
business case and that site.”
WakaKotahi will lead the project,
starting with detailed designand
tenderingand construction starting
