With their natural color ranging from light to dark and<br />
a variety of sizes, jicaras are a favorite with artisans.<br />
After harvesting, they are cooked in a special mix of<br />
water and lime (agua y cal) and the soft white inside<br />
pulp is removed. When ready, jicaras are dried in the<br />
sun for several days until they get their typical coffee<br />
color.<br />
Con su color natural que va desde la luz a la oscuridad y<br />
una variedad de tamaños, las jícaras son las favoritas de<br />
los artesanos. Después de la cosecha, se cocinan en una<br />
mezcla especial de agua y lima (agua y cal) y se retira<br />
la suave pulpa blanca del interior. Cuando esté listo, las<br />
jícaras se secan al sol durante varios días hasta que<br />
obtengan su color de café típico.<br />
