Not All Women
Want the
Same

Today, women continue to
fi ght for gender equality,
better working conditions,
fair salaries, and the recognition
of our ability to lead a home, a
company, and an entire country.
This March 8, on the celebration
of International Women’s Day, we
ask that our rights not be violated.
We want to live without fear and
with the freedom of choice.
Beyond what we demand from
others, we must ask, are we, as
women, respecting each other’s
decisions? Not all women aspire
the same. Is that so diffi cult
to understand? Some women
feel fulfi lled being mothers,
while others don’t. Women’s
fulfi llment can come from being
entrepreneurs, single, traveling
the world, or obtaining multiple
college degrees. Fulfi llment,
success, and happiness are
individual goals. A woman is
no less a woman for wanting to
stay at home taking care of her
children while others work to pay
bills.
Sometimes, it is women who
don’t respect each other’s
choices. Some women question
the value of other women all the
time, like when giving birth to a
baby, judging if one gave birth
naturally or with a C-section. We
must be consistent with what
MUJERES
we demand. To do so, we must
respect and show solidarity. If
we demand respect, we must
also respect ourselves. We
should learn to stop comparing
ourselves to others, as that
is a synonym for lacking selfconfi
dence. We must understand
that when one of us breaks the
patterns that society demands,
we are all moving forward and
can only collectively build a path
toward the equality we seek.
Every woman can make her own
decisions and should feel fulfi lled
and free without being called
selfi sh for choosing herself fi rst.
What characterizes us women
is our strength, courage, and
the passion with which we do
things. When we join forces, we
are unstoppable! So be proud of
who you are, continue to inspire,
reinvent yourself, stay away from
places that no longer make you
happy, stay away from people
who don’t recognize your value,
and support other women in your
life.
Being a woman means playing
endless roles; it represents
courage and determination.
It often means reinventing
yourself, fi ghting with yourself,
and facing your fears. The power
of a woman is her essence, so
remember how powerful you are!

ASPIRAMOS A LO MISMO
En la actualidad las
mujeres continuamos
luchando porque se
reconozca la igualdad de
género, mejores condiciones
de trabajo, pagos justos y
la habilidad y capacidad
para liderar no solamente
un hogar, sino también una
empresa y un país entero.
Este 8 de marzo que se
celebra el día internacional
de la mujer, pedimos que no
se violen nuestros derechos.
Queremos vivir sin miedo y
con la libertad de elegir.
Pero, más allá de lo que
estamos exigiendo, nosotras
como mujeres, ¿estamos
respetando las decisiones
de cada quién? No todas
las mujeres aspiramos a lo
mismo. ¿Es eso tan difícil de
entender? Algunas mujeres
nos sentimos realizadas
siendo madres y otras no,
o viajando por el mundo,
siendo empresarias, estando
solteras, o consiguiendo
múltiples títulos universitarios.
La realización, el éxito
y la felicidad son metas
individuales. Una mujer no
es menos mujer por querer
quedarse en casa cuidando
de sus hijos mientras otras
están facturando.
Para no ir tan lejos, como
mujeres solemos cuestionar
nuestro valor al momento
de dar a luz a un bebé,
por si fue cesárea o parto
vaginal. Seamos coherentes
con lo que exigimos y
para serlo, debemos
respetar y solidarizarnos
con nosotras mismas. Si
exigimos respeto, también
debemos respetarnos. La
comparación no es más
que un sinónimo de falta de
confi anza en uno mismo.
Tenemos que aprender que
cuando una de nosotras
rompe los esquemas que
la sociedad exige, todas
estamos avanzando, que solo
en lo colectivo y en equipo
construiremos el camino
hacia la igualdad que tanto
buscamos.
Cada mujer tiene la libertad
de tomar sus propias
decisiones y debería poder
sentirse plena, realizada y
libre, sin ser llamada egoísta
por elegirse a sí misma.
Algo que nos caracteriza
a las mujeres es nuestra
capacidad, valentía y la
pasión con la que hacemos
las cosas. Cuando unimos
fuerzas somos imparables,
así que siéntete orgullosa de
quién eres, sigue inspirando,
reinventándote, alejando de
lugares que no te hacen feliz
y apartando de personas
que no reconozcan tu valor,
y apoyando a las mujeres en
tu vida.
Ser mujer signifi ca un numero
interminable de roles, coraje
y determinación. Signifi ca
muchas veces reinventarse,
y luchar consigo misma
enfrentando sus propios
miedos. El poder de la mujer
es su esencia, así que ¡no te
olvides de lo poderosa que
eres, mujer!
