respectively. Light Jets were most popular in Portugal with a fleet<br />
of 53, followed by Medium Jets with 42. Some 25 business jet<br />
models were operated in Portugal, led by the Citation Latitude<br />
(25), Phenom 300 (20) and Citation 560XL (18). Portugal had one<br />
of the highest proportions of locally registered business jets in<br />
<strong>Europe</strong> with 97% of the fleet on the CS- register.<br />
Turkey<br />
Turkey’s business jet fleet size reduced by just one aircraft during<br />
<strong>2022</strong> for a total of 117 at year end. Only one new jet was delivered<br />
during the year – a Falcon 8X to charter company Setair. There<br />
were 15 pre-owned additions of mainly Large and Long Range<br />
jets, as well as 17 deductions. Bombardier was the top OEM in<br />
Turkey with a fleet share of 36%, ahead of Textron with 28% and<br />
Dassault and Gulfstream with 14% each. The Turkish fleet was<br />
concentrated around Large and Long Range jets with a combined<br />
fleet share of 57%, with the Light and Medium categories having<br />
shares of 20% and 17%, respectively. Turkey’s fleet was quite<br />
widespread among 45 aircraft models, with each model having<br />
comparably small numbers. The Challenger 605, Gulfstream<br />
G450 and Citation 560XL series were jointly the most popular<br />
models with seven aircraft each. Turkey’s locally registered fleet<br />
proportion was relatively high at 84% with just 9% of the fleet were<br />
registered offshore.<br />
Italy<br />
With a net gain of four aircraft and a <strong>2022</strong> year-end fleet of 112<br />
jets, the Italian business jet fleet ranked ninth among <strong>Europe</strong>an<br />
countries. There were six new deliveries to Italy during <strong>2022</strong> –<br />
four Gulfstream Long Range Jets and two Citation CJ4 Light<br />
Jets. The 14 pre-owned additions and 16 deductions from the<br />
fleet comprised a mix of aircraft models across all categories.<br />
Textron captured the largest OEM market share in Italy with 47%<br />
(53 aircraft). The other major OEMs Bombardier, Dassault and<br />
Gulfstream had fairly even fleet shares of around 15%. Embraer<br />
was less well represented in Italy with just two aircraft – one<br />
Legacy 650 and one Phenom 100. The Hawker 400 was the most<br />
popular model in Italy with ten aircraft, followed by the Citation<br />
525, Citation 500/501 and Gulfstream G550 with seven each.<br />
Some 67% of the Italian fleet was registered locally, with 17%<br />
offshore and 7% on the US N register.<br />
Spain<br />
Rounding out the top ten largest fleets in <strong>Europe</strong> were the 78 jets<br />
operated in Spain. The year-end <strong>2022</strong> fleet saw a net decrease of<br />
nine aircraft over the previous year – the most of any <strong>Europe</strong>an<br />
country. There were few additions to the Spanish fleet during <strong>2022</strong><br />
with just one PC-24 as the only new delivery made, and only five<br />
pre-owned additions. On the other hand, there were 15 deductions<br />
from the Spain-based fleet during the year, nine of which headed<br />
to other <strong>Europe</strong>an countries. Textron accounted for 55% of the<br />
fleet with 43 jets, followed by Bombardier and Gulfstream, each<br />
with a 17% share. Light Jets were the most popular in Spain with<br />
28 aircraft and a 36% fleet share, followed by Very Light Jets<br />
with 21% and Long Range Jets with 19%. Cessna Citation family<br />
models were most common in Spain, including the Citation 550<br />
(nine aircraft), Citation 525 (eight), Citation Mustang (six) and<br />
Citation 560XL (five). Three-quarters of the Spain-based fleet was<br />
registered locally, with the remaining fleet registered offshore<br />
(8%), on the US register (3%) and on registries (14%).<br />
