The Centre provides detailed narrative and financial<br />

reports on its activities to its donors complying with<br />

their individual reporting requirements. Furthermore,<br />

the Centre reports to Austrian authorities (Ministry of<br />

Finance and Ministry of Foreign Affairs) regarding its<br />

finances as required respective to the status as Quasi<br />

International Organization under Austrian Law.<br />

The Centre also has two independent internal auditors<br />

and in addition subjects itself to a voluntary external<br />

audit by Grant Thornton auditors which is shared with<br />

the Board and donors.<br />

Grants and donations are received in the understanding<br />

that the Centre´s reputation, integrity,<br />

impartiality and confidentiality of its work will not be<br />

put at risk.<br />

The financial year ended on 31 Dec <strong>2023</strong> with<br />

available funds amounting to 1.8 million Euros<br />

and expenses amounting to 1.2 million Euros<br />

covering <strong>BKMC</strong>´s activities including staffing cost in<br />

Vienna, consultancies, online hybrid and physical<br />

events, travel expenses, scholarships, microgrants,<br />

mentorships, fellowships, events, symposia,<br />

conferences, communication cost, rent, maintenance,<br />

utilities, cleaning, bank fees and legal fees etc.<br />
