V3.110.5 Length of permitted stay<br />

a. Despite V2.5 and V2.15, applicants who are approved under these instructions may be<br />

granted a 3-year multiple entry visitor visa, allowing visits of 6 months from each date of<br />

arrival provided that:<br />

i the sponsor intends to be in <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong> during the period of any visit to <strong>New</strong><br />

<strong>Zealand</strong> permitted by that visa; and<br />

ii the sponsor supports the application.<br />

b. Despite V3.110.5 (a) applicants are limited to a maximum stay in <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong> of 18<br />

months in total during the currency of the visa.<br />

V3.110.10 Issue of further multiple entry visitor visas under these instructions<br />

a. A further visitor visa under these instructions will not normally be approved within 3 years<br />

of the date that the most recent visa was granted under these instructions.<br />

b. The following people will not normally be eligible for a subsequent multiple-entry visitor<br />

visa under these instructions:<br />

i people who were granted a visa under these instructions and whose sponsor was not<br />

in <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong> during the period(s) of their visit(s) to <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong>;<br />

ii any person granted a visa under these instructions, who remains in <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong> for a<br />

period in excess of the maximum allowable stay (18 months).<br />

V3.115 Work visa holders dismissed during a trial period<br />

a. Holders of current work visas who:<br />

i hold a visa subject to the condition that they may only take up employment with a<br />

specific employer; and<br />

ii had provision for a trial period of up to 90 days under section 67A of the Employment<br />

Relations Act 2000 included in their employment agreement; and<br />

iii have been notified within the duration of the trial period that they are to be dismissed;<br />

and<br />

iv have not previously been the principal applicant in a successful application under these<br />

instructions;<br />

may be granted a visitor visa for up to three months.<br />

b. Applicants for a visitor visa under these instructions must:<br />

i meet funds or sponsorship requirements for visitors (see V2.20);<br />

ii provide evidence of travel tickets, onward travel arrangements or sufficient funds for<br />

the purchase of onward travel tickets (see V2.25);<br />

iii meet health and character requirements for temporary entry (see A4 and A5).
