System How <strong>to</strong> Start the <strong>SAS</strong> Deployment Wizard<br />

z/OS For basic deployments, type setup.rexx <strong>to</strong> run the <strong>SAS</strong> Deployment<br />

Wizard.<br />

For planned deployments:<br />

n The first invocation of the <strong>SAS</strong> Deployment Wizard is <strong>to</strong> install the<br />

metadata server as a 64-bit application.setup.rexx –z64<br />

n The second invocation of the <strong>SAS</strong> Deployment Wizard is <strong>to</strong> install the<br />

remainder of your <strong>SAS</strong> <strong>9.3</strong> order as a 31-bit application: setup.rexx<br />

To use a temporary direc<strong>to</strong>ry other than /tmp, specify –templocation<br />

new-temp-dir.<br />

Note: If you install <strong>SAS</strong> using the -nojobsubmit option, the process<br />

for applying a software update differs from the one described in this<br />

document. For more information, see the “Documentation for a <strong>SAS</strong> <strong>9.3</strong><br />

installation in z/OS operating environment” at http://support.sas.com/<br />

documentation/installcenter/93/mvs/index.html.<br />

5 If any product updates are required, then the <strong>SAS</strong> Deployment Wizard goes in<strong>to</strong><br />

Update mode and installs any product updates on that machine.<br />

Note: If a machine does not require any product updates, then the <strong>SAS</strong> Deployment<br />

Wizard will not go in<strong>to</strong> Update mode, and the installation of the maintenance release<br />

on that machine is complete. Click Cancel <strong>to</strong> exit the <strong>SAS</strong> Deployment Wizard.<br />

6 After the deployment is complete, click Next in the <strong>SAS</strong> Deployment Wizard.
