an LNG Precinct at James Price Point, subject to the ultimate execution of the formal
Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA).
The State Governmentís commitments as part of this broad agreement include:
� Only taking land that is required for the Precinct, when it is required and not
extinguishing native title;
� When the land is no longer needed, returning it fully remediated to the Traditional
Owners;
� Providing an area of land equivalent to that required for the processing facility, under
freehold title, to the Traditional Owners, which could be developed, including by
taking opportunities to benefit from the Precinct project;
� Funding for Indigenous management of nature and heritage reserves;
� Funding support for economic development, better housing and education and
cultural preservation;
� Resolving Indigenous land title issues on the Dampier Peninsula north of Broome;
� Creating new nature and heritage reserves on the Dampier Peninsula; and
� Funding for a Kimberley Enhancement Scheme that will expand and improve
existing government services and facilities in the broader community.
Woodside, as foundation proponent, has also made commitments as part of the
agreement including support for:
� Indigenous education;
� Indigenous employment and contracting opportunities;
� Indigenous business development;
� Cultural heritage protection; and
� Cross-cultural awareness programs.
The Commonwealth Government is developing a range of complementary benefits.
Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA)
The State Government, the KLC (representing the Traditional Owners) and Woodside are
continuing discussions regarding the final format and content of the ILUA or ILUAs. The
ILUA will provide the formal legal consents required under the Native Title Act 1993 for
the valid establishment of the Precinct and the valid grant of all titles by the State to
project proponents.
