Personnel and Management
Question ñ What kinds of staff will the company employ?
The peak construction workforce for the foundation proponentís initial development (i.e.
up to 3 trains) at the Precinct could be expected to be between approximately 2,500-
3,500 people. Final numbers will be dependent on facility size, phasing of facilities (e.g.
one LNG train at a time or multiple at once), degree of concurrent construction and if
other proponents are building facilities simultaneously.
The size of operational workforce will in part depend on how many proponents end up
operating within the Precinct. However, the core operations workforce required for dayto-day
operation of the initial development (i.e. up to three trains) within the Precinct
could be expected to be between 300 and 500 people. During the operational life of the
project the facility will be operated on a 24 hour a day, seven days a week basis
excluding planned shutdown periods. During planned major maintenance and
turnarounds and influx of shutdown personnel will occur with an estimated total workforce
of up to 900 people for up to 1 month duration.
Typical employment opportunities during the construction phase of an LNG facility with
the proponentís contractors would include:
� Tradesperson roles ñ labourers, steel fixers, electricians, carpenters, riggers,
mechanical fitters, welders;
� Professional ñ Accountants, human resource managers and assistants, community
relations advisers, engineers, safety advisors, geologists, maintenance technicians;
� Site preparation/temporary facilities ñ operators/Labourers, grano workers/concrete
finishers, steel fixers, carpenters, electricians;
� Civils - operators/labourers, grano workers, steel fixers, carpenters, electricians and
support trades;
� LNG/condensate tanks ñ operators/labourers, grano workers/concrete finishers, steel
fixers, carpenters, electricians, welders, riggers, pipe fitters, plasterers/boilermakers,
support trades;
� Jetty ñ operators/labourers, grano workers/concrete finishers, steel fixers, carpenters,
electricians, welders, riggers, pipe fitters, plasterers/boilermakers, support trades;
� Mechanical ñ mechanical fitters, welders, riggers, pipe fitters, platers/boilermakers,
