Board of TruSTeeS of The STaTe hermiTage muSeum
On 19 June 2010, the meeting of a new
Board of Trustees was held at the
State Hermitage Museum.
Vladimir Potanin, President of the Interos
Company, was re-elected Chairman
of the Board of Trustees.
The budget of the Hermitage was
adopted at the meeting. Measures
for preserving the museum’s autonomous
status were discussed. One of
the key topics of the meeting, the creation
of the endowment, will become
the main objective of the Board of
Trustees. The plan of key events leading
to the celebration of the 250th
anniversary of the Hermitage was approved.
The key tasks include:
• completion of the restoration of
the eastern wing of the General
Staff building and the establishment
of the Museum of the Nineteenth-
and Twentieth-Century
Art;
• completion of the second stage
and start of the third stage of construction
at the Staraya Derevnya
Restoration, Conservation and
Storage Centre;
• restoration of the Zapasnoi (Reserve)
House and the Antiquity
Rooms in the New Hermitage;
• preparation for the establishment
of the Museum of the Guard in
Palace Square and the Museum
of Russian State Symbols in the
Stock Exchange building on the
Spit of Vasilievsky Island;
• completion of the electronic collection
management system; and
• creation of the printed and electronic
Encyclopaedia of the State
Hermitage.
