Head of Athene, to r., wearing earring, necklace, and crested Athen-<br />

ian helmet, on side of which is Skylla hurling stone.<br />

RL. HPAKAHTOI. Owl standing to r., head facing, on olive-<br />

branch ; in field, a flower : concave field. — Drachm.<br />

This drachm belongs to Tarentum(cf. Evans, p. 182, n° 2) and l-HPAKAHTOZ<br />

is the name of a Tarentine magistrate whose symbol is a flower (cf. Evans, p. 174).<br />

RL. (Traces of inscription.) Herakles, naked, standing to r., lower<br />

part of body facing, contending with lion ; to 1., club ; between<br />
