This type may be the one referred to bySambon as the work of Kimon. " Garrucci
(PL cm , 1 6) illustrates a didrachm from his own collection with thename KIMflN-
If this is genuine, we shall not be rash in regarding the K on our coin as repre-
senting the same name " (G. F. Hill, Num. Chron., 1920, p. 103). A later note
in Num. Chioti., 1920, pp. 277-8 by M. P. Vlasto, shows this to be a misreading
of Garrucci's.
Female head to r., hair rolled in front, wearing sphendone orna-
mented at back with stars, earring and necklace with pendant :
linear border.
