production costs . Includes dealing with production<br />

personnel and unions, budgeting, location scouting,<br />

permitting, dealing with “civilians” on the set, handling<br />

security and insurance issues, handling transportation<br />

issues, managing set catering and safety, disbursing<br />

funds, documenting expenditures, handling clearance<br />

license fees, and managing other business issues .<br />

Also covers developing detailed budgets for analyzing<br />

scripts by using costs researched in the local area .<br />

Lighting techniques for 16mm film or video production .<br />

(This class demonstrates advanced lighting techniques<br />

for 16mm film and video productions . Using a variety<br />

of lab projects and location settings, students will<br />

use lights, filters, in-camera special effects and mood<br />

setting techniques to enhance shot composition and<br />

camera movement . Topics also include operating<br />

film cameras, light meters and selecting film stock .<br />

Students are required to attend additional lab hours<br />

In this class the student explores the creative<br />

possibilities of non-linear film and video editing .<br />

design, compositing, special effects and editing<br />

scenes with a computer . Software packages used will<br />

include Apple’s Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects .<br />

Students are required to attend additional lab hours<br />

outside of class .
