Housing<br />
Wel<strong>com</strong>e Center<br />

The Housing Wel<strong>com</strong>e Center is<br />
located in Building 2371 at NAS<br />
<strong>Patuxent</strong> <strong>River</strong>. Lincoln Military<br />
Housing has entered into a Public<br />
Private Venture (PPV) with the Navy<br />
and manages all military family housing<br />
units that are part of the <strong>Naval</strong> <strong>Air</strong><br />
<strong>Station</strong> <strong>Patuxent</strong> <strong>River</strong> <strong>com</strong>plex. There<br />
are 771 housing units for officer and<br />
enlisted families. The government in<br />
<strong>com</strong>pliance with OPNAVINST 11101.13<br />
series establishes the bedroom<br />
entitlement and assignment policies.<br />
Waiting times may vary with each housing<br />
area. The housing office reviews<br />
applications for family housing, determines<br />
eligibility and delivers the<br />
applications to Lincoln Military Housing<br />
for assignment to quarters. Assignment<br />
to quarters does not automatically<br />
allow the breaking of a lease agreement<br />
in the local <strong>com</strong>munity; however,<br />
Lincoln Military Housing may be able to<br />
work a lease buy-out with a current<br />
apartment <strong>com</strong>munity, inquire about<br />
the details of this program. The<br />
following is needed to apply for<br />

3) Certification of bona fide family<br />
members (members listed on the<br />
emergency data application,<br />

Military members must contact the<br />
housing office before making any<br />
arrangements for housing in the local<br />
<strong>com</strong>munity. Housing referral service is<br />
provided to military, civilian contractor<br />
employees and their family members.<br />
This service assists in the location of<br />
suitable, non-discriminatory, affordable<br />
housing in the <strong>com</strong>munity through<br />
rental/sales listings by owners and local<br />
real estate brokers. The foyer area of<br />
the Housing Wel<strong>com</strong>e Center is open<br />
24 hours with updated area listings and<br />
additional information on the<br />
surrounding area.<br />

The mission of Lincoln Military<br />
Housing is to provide military families<br />
with exemplary service in a quality<br />
home environment. Several <strong>com</strong>munities<br />
are being renovated and two new<br />
neighborhoods are being built off<br />
station.<br />
The rent charge for living in military<br />
housing is equal to the BAH rate for<br />
Pax <strong>River</strong>. Lincoln Military Housing<br />
offers several financial benefits as well<br />
as multiple programs and activities to<br />
foster a sense of <strong>com</strong>munity. Some<br />
benefits to being a Lincoln Military<br />
Housing resident are:<br />
1) No utility payments<br />
2) 24-hour emergency maintenance<br />
3) No security deposit if the allotment<br />
payment option is selected<br />
4) Free monthly events with different<br />
themes<br />
5) Sponsored events such as free<br />
tickets to the circus or ball games<br />
6) Free renters insurance ($10,000)<br />
7) Free roadside assistance (on station<br />
and within a five-mile radius)<br />
8) Maintained grounds<br />
Currently, Lincoln Military Housing is<br />
also accepting geographical bachelors<br />
and single service members as residents<br />
in select <strong>com</strong>munities.<br />
The housing <strong>com</strong>munity center is<br />
also available for the benefit and recreation<br />
of housing residents for special<br />
events from birthday parties to receptions.<br />
