A fitness center in the Drill Hall<br />

MWR and the station’s visitor quarters<br />

along with job opportunities at other<br />

region bases. Employment options<br />

range from childcare and customer<br />

service positions to accounting<br />

technicians and facility managers. MWR<br />

also offers a number of part-time jobs<br />

ideal for active-duty enlisted members.<br />

Energy Zone<br />

The Energy Zone, located behind the<br />

drill hall, features three studios, mirrors<br />

and changing rooms. The center offers<br />

group exercise classes taught by fitness<br />

specialists for a variety of cardiovascular<br />

workouts. Class times vary<br />

depending on the season. The center<br />

also features dance, yoga, tai-chi and<br />

other specialty classes taught by<br />

professional instructors. Group exercise<br />

passes and registration for specialty<br />

classes are conducted in the Recreation<br />

Office located in the Information,<br />

Tickets and Tours office. All active-duty<br />

and retired military, reserves, DoD<br />

employees, family members, and contractors<br />

are eligible to use this facility.<br />

Recreation & Leisure<br />

The drill hall is the center of indoor<br />

recreation and athletics at the station.<br />

Located behind McDonald’s on Cedar<br />

Point Road, the drill hall features four<br />

fitness rooms, sporting activities and a<br />

wide range of information about recreational<br />

opportunities. The drill hall is<br />

open to all active-duty, reservist and<br />

retired military, DoD civilians and their<br />

family members for free. Contractors<br />

may purchase a Fitness and Sports<br />

membership to gain access to the facility.<br />

Bowling Center<br />

The Bowling Center is a remodeled,<br />

modern entertainment <strong>com</strong>plex<br />

featuring 12 lanes, Café 300 (a fully<br />

stocked snack bar), Strike Zone (bowling<br />

pro shop), 13th Alley (party area),<br />

league play, tournaments and other<br />

special promotions. Cosmic Bowling is<br />

a popular feature at the center.<br />

Fitness and<br />

Cardiovascular Centers<br />

MWR’s fitness centers feature a<br />

<strong>com</strong>plete line of Body Master® and<br />

LifeCircuit® stations, trained fitness<br />

specialists and a state-of-the-art kiosk<br />

system for designing personalized<br />

fitness programs.<br />

Free Weights Room<br />

This room features plates, bars and<br />

specialized equipment for weightlifters<br />

at the station. The free weights room is<br />

located in the drill hall’s basement.<br />

Indoor Pool<br />

The drill hall’s lifeguard-staffed<br />

indoor pool features six lanes for<br />

fitness and recreational swimming all<br />

year long. Swimming lessons and<br />

aqua-aerobics classes also are offered.<br />

Gear Issue<br />

At Gear Issue, station residents and<br />

employees may rent indoor and<br />

outdoor recreation equipment. This<br />

includes camping gear, picnic and party<br />

supplies, basketballs and racquets.<br />

Racquetball, Basketball<br />

and Volleyball Courts<br />

The facility houses three regulationsized<br />

racquetball courts, three basketball<br />

courts, one full-sized NCAA<br />

regulation basketball court and one<br />

full-sized regulation volleyball court.<br />

Recreation Office<br />

The drill hall’s Recreation Office<br />

offers information on Civilian<br />

Recreation Association memberships,<br />

the Energy Zone, ticket sales, station<br />

hunting and fishing permits, Beach<br />

House rental, table and chair rental,<br />

camping reservations, the intramural<br />

sports program, TicketMaster and<br />

up<strong>com</strong>ing athletic events.<br />

Flight Deck<br />

The Flight Deck Lounge is a popular<br />

place to meet after the work day and<br />

for retirement, birthday and promotion<br />

parties. Special nights featuring<br />

<strong>com</strong>edians, live bands and other entertainers<br />

highlight the club’s calendar of<br />

events. The lounge is located in the<br />

Navy Gateway Inns & Suites building<br />

and is open to officers and civilian<br />

employees who are eligible for membership<br />

in the Officers’ Club.<br />

Contractors may also use this facility.<br />
