Veterans’ Memorial<br />
V-shaped walls of polished black granite honor the men<br />
and women who served in the U.S. armed forces in the<br />
Vietnam War. The names of more than 58,000 American servicemen<br />
and women killed or who remain missing are listed<br />
on the walls chronologically by date of casualty. A life-size<br />
bronze statue of three Vietnam era soldiers stands near the<br />
wall. The Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial is located across the<br />
street from the Lincoln Memorial in Constitution Gardens on<br />
the Mall.<br />
The White House<br />
Home to every President except George Washington, the<br />
design of the White House is based on a design by James<br />
Hoban. Antiques and original pieces from previous administrations<br />
decorate the mansion. The White House is located at<br />
