In addition, standardization also helps in reducing medical errors. For instance, in same handed patient rooms, familiarity with layout and location of equipment and drugs allows staff to respond faster and better and work more efficiently. A little intervention and thought at the planning stage can lead to long- term tangible and intangible benefits for an institution.
