4.6 : Conclusion.<br />
Based on mission environments and operational requirements, Office of<br />
Military Affairs (OMA) prepares <strong>the</strong> Statement of Force and Unit Requirements.<br />
The mission, tasks, organization, equipment and personnel requirements<br />
for <strong>the</strong> UN <strong>Infantry</strong> <strong>Battalion</strong> is described in <strong>the</strong> Statement of Unit<br />
Requirement. UN <strong>Infantry</strong> <strong>Battalion</strong>s are required to execute <strong>the</strong> mission<br />
essential tasks within <strong>the</strong>ir capability in a given operational environment.<br />
The basic capability stand ards for <strong>the</strong> UN <strong>Infantry</strong> <strong>Battalion</strong> and its subordinate<br />
units will be supplemented with detailed criteria and checklists for<br />
commanders in Chapter 3, in Vol. II of this <strong>Manual</strong>. Achieving and maintaining<br />
<strong>the</strong>se stand ards through deliberate force generation, careful resource<br />
allocation, integrated training and realistic rehearsals by <strong>the</strong> battalion is a<br />
prerequisite to ensure effective performance in <strong>the</strong> mission area.<br />
