Prinergy® Direct
Prinergy Direct workflow system is an integral part of distributed print
operations, such as hub-and-spoke architectures, that use a centralized
prepress facility to supply print-ready jobs to various distributed printing
facilities. Prinergy Direct accepts imposed files or jobs exported from
Prinergy Connect and Prinergy Powerpack, efficiently driving Creo
platesetters and a wide variety of proofing devices.
Job import/export allows for the exchange of complete or partial jobs
between Prinergy systems. Prinergy Direct can import and export
JDF-based job files to exchange job data between systems. By
reassigning jobs to alternate print sites, printers can accelerate their
turnaround and maximize the efficiency of their enterprise-wide print
resources.
Prinergy Direct accepts job tickets produced with JDF from job
production planning tools, such as Synapse UpFront and Preps. It
accepts JDF-based page assignment information from Synapse
Prepare, PDF preflight software and automates ink-key presetting using
PrintLink. Prinergy Direct also uses JDF-based Synapse Link software
to automate access, sharing and utilization of prepress production data
for exchange with printer business information systems.

Workflow
Synapse Link software automates the exchange of data between Creo
print production systems and management information systems (MIS).
Using the open JDF standard, Synapse Link allows printers to maintain
accurate records and communicate information about prepress
functions including material usage, job status, and machine utilization.
With the production information reported by Synapse Link, printers can
make better informed business decisions, be more responsive to
customer demands, and become more profitable. Synapse Link can
further streamline the print process by automating job creation
(archiving, deleting, importing, exporting) in business or production
systems, where the capability is available. Synapse Link software
produces both standalone and dynamic reports.
