arvato systems offers the Production Management System (PMS),
specially developed for international printing and packaging industries,
with experience from more than 150 machine-links (sheetfed, web,
bookbinding, finishing) and in practical use for years. Based on a 7x24
offline concept despite network interruptions.
PMS covers one or more plants for local as well as central production
control and works as an independent but integrated shop floor data
collection application together with the Management Information System
via bi-directional data transfer by JDF and JMF.
PMS works with different data collection types at all workplaces in
prepress, press and postpress. The main focus lays on online machine
data collection, ink consumption, signals for QM snap samples,
packing-unit control. All with minimum manual additions by operators.
PMS delivers transparency of all production resources (workplaces,
tools, materials, personnel) as well as all job operations. PMS enables
flexible job status tracking by itself or together with e-scheduling. PMS
automates report printing at defined hours on defined printers or by
e-mail. PMS initiates various control loops by messages, reports and
monitoring in production, scheduling and administration.
