K-Station provides central control of multiple Komori presses and<br />

functions as an interface to outside systems (such as the Management<br />

Information System [MIS]). This facilitates sending/receiving production<br />

data by <strong>JDF</strong> and permits data management. K-Station sends the<br />

production control data and job control data in the <strong>CIP4</strong>/<strong>JDF</strong> data from<br />

the MIS and the <strong>CIP4</strong>/PPF data from prepress to multiple presses<br />

(KMS/KHS-AI), and supports press-side makeready tasks. In addition,<br />

production and maintenance data can be managed and stored, and<br />

necessary information can be sent as feedback to MIS. Linkage with<br />

The IPC Server II employs an open <strong>JDF</strong>/JMF-interface to accommodate<br />

two-way information exchange with internal management information<br />

systems and job order information systems. The IPC Server II consists of<br />

three functional software packages available individually or as a group to<br />

meet customers' needs.<br />

(1) Job package: All printing job data and scheduled job lists that have<br />

been registered with the IPC II Server are made available to each<br />

appropriate press via the press IPC II. This package enables centralized<br />

management of all print jobs and scheduling of all programmed jobs.<br />

(2) Production package: The functions of this package are to serve as a<br />

remote press monitor for all jobs in progress, maintain a history of the last<br />

100 jobs run, and calculate and provide a productivity record of each<br />

press linked with the IPC Server II.<br />

(3) Maintenance package: This software package offers centralized control<br />

of all diagnosis support and maintenance support rendered to each press<br />

linked with the IPC Server II.<br />
