On 19 October 2007,<br />
‘Memorial to the Surf Lifesaver’,<br />
by Sydney sculptor Sasha Reid,<br />
was unveiled at Hunter Park, Bondi.<br />
The sculpture commemorates the<br />
surf lifesavers who have died while<br />
performing rescues and those<br />
who have died while patrolling,<br />
competing or participating in<br />
other surf lifesaving activities.<br />
