Disposal<br />
Drop-off old devices at the certified waste facilities, where they<br />
will be disposed of properly.<br />
AVV marking According to the German "Abfallverzeichnisverordnung" (AVV)<br />
(January, 2001), old devices manufactred by KNAUER are<br />
marked as waste electrical and electronic equipment: 160214<br />
WEEE registration KNAUER as a company is registered by the WEEE number<br />
DE 34642789 in the German "ElektroAltgeräteRegister" (EAR). It<br />
belongs to category 8, under which fall all medical devices and<br />
laboratory equipment.<br />
Within the meaning of the WEEE directive, all distributors and<br />
importers are responsible for the disposal of old devices. End<strong>user</strong>s<br />
can send their old devices, which must have been manufactured<br />
by KNAUER, back to the distributor, the importer, or<br />
the company free of charge, but would be charged for their disposal.
