6. Estudio de material biológico mediante
Microscopía de Fuerzas Atómicas
Palabras clave: microscopía de fuerzas atómicas, proteínas,
superficies funcionalizadas
ii) fructosa dehidrogenasa iii) peroxidasa,
6. AFM study of biological material
Keywords: atomic force microscopy (AFM), proteins,
functionalized surfaces
We have studied three systems: i) metallothionein, ii)
fructose dehydrogenase, iii) peroxidase, deposited on
gold substrates, bare or thiol-functionalized. In all
cases, we analysed the protein monolayer surface by
AFM operating in tapping mode under buffer conditions,
achieving molecular resolution. In systems I) and
ii) we studied the influence of the presence of a thiol
monolayer on the geometry of adsorption of the protein
monolayer. In both cases we correlated the different
protein monolayer geometry and ordering with the
different interactions governing the protein adsorption
process. In this sense, force spectroscopy revealed as a
very useful technique to reach a better knowledge at
nanometer level of the properties of the thiol monolayers.
We also studied the influence of the tip-sample
interactions on the imaging of organic samples with the
tapping and phase contrast modes.
7. Materiales nanocomposites
Palabras clave: materiales nanocomposites, arcillas,
HDLs
y Zn-Cr con POE funcionalizado (-COOH o -SO 3
H)
intercalados bien organizados estructuralmente.
microondas. Todos estos nanocomposites se están
caracterizando para su aplicación como elementos de
baterías de litio.
7. Nanocomposite materials
Keywords: nanocomposites, clays, LDHs
In this line of investigation we explore the possibility to
associate at the nanometric scale layered solids such as
natural phyllosilicates (clays) or layered double hydroxides
(LDHs) with different functional polymers, mainly
electroactive polymers. Preparation of nanocomposites
based on Cu-Cr and Zn-Cr LDHs and PEO incorporating
-COOH or -SO 3
H functions, by ion-exchange or template
synthesis of the LDH in presence of the polymer,
indicates that the synthetic method is crucial to reach
the formation of well organized intercalated nanocomposites.
Polymer-clay nanocomposites has been prepared
by in situ polymerization of pyrrole and acrylonitrile
in smectites. These last group present special interest
as they can be transformed into nanostructure
materials presenting alternate layers of nanometric
thickness of silicate and conducting carbon. Based on
this we are now using the nanoporous silicate sepiolite
to prepare carbon nanowires. Also PEO/clay nanocomposites
has been prepared by the new melting intercalation
activate by microwave irradiation method. We are
currently studying the characteristics of most part of
these nanocomposites in view to their application as
components of lithium batteries.
