Por lo anterior, dos vecinos del
sector Playa Ancha, el arquitecto
Claudio Martínez y el pintor
Gonzalo Ilabaca planean la
construcción de un nuevo
mirador emplazado en la calle
Waddington, de esta manera la
ciudad terminaría su circuito de
miradores en distintos puntos de
su geografía.
El proyecto, responde a un viejo
sueño de los habitantes del
sector que permitiría crear un
polo de desarrollo económico y
turístico en el lugar, el que
actualmente cubre un muro que
impide que los habitantes y
quienes visiten el lugar puedan
apreciar su hermosa vista
panorámica.
Mirador Waddington, sería el más
largo de Valparaíso,
aproximadamente el doble del
paseo 21 de mayo y su
construcción significaría un
importante aporte para los
vecinos del lugar, así como
también, para el rubro del
turismo.
El mirador conectaría en su parte
inferior, con la popular Caleta El
Membrillo además de la
costanera Avenida Altamirano.
Además de su importancia para
el desarrollo del turismo, el
mirador brindaría un espacio
propicio para celebrar la fiesta
religiosa de San Pedro con sus
bailes y tradiciones.
El terreno es de propiedad de la
Armada, quien ya habría apoyado
esta iniciativa comenzando los
trámites para ceder el terreno
que albergaría a este mirador
porteño.
Uno de sus impulsores, el
connotado pintor Gonzalo
Ilabaca, declaró a revista
Miradores que con este proyecto
busca agradecer de alguna
manera las experiencias vividas
en la ciudad, agregando además
que en esta iniciativa pueden
participar todas aquellas
personas que deseen aportar a la
concreción del anhelado mirador
porteño.

The land is owned by the Navy,
who have supported this
initiative and starting the
paperwork to give up land that
would house this viewpoint

One of its proponents, the
notorious painter Gonzalo
Ilabaca, Lookouts magazine
declared that this project seeks
to somehow thank experiences in
the city, adding further that this
initiative can join all those who
wish to contribute to the
achievement of the desired
porteño viewpoint.
