Las corrientes fluviales que la atraviesan (Tomebamba,
Yanuncay, Machángara y Tarqui) le han dado a Cuenca
el sobrenombre de la ciudad de los cuatro ríos. Es
considerada una de las urbes más hermosas del Ecuador.
En su Centro Histórico reposan bellas edificaciones
coloniales, iglesias, plazas, calles empedradas… Y su lado
moderno dispone de todas los servicios actuales, como
centros comerciales, boutiques, exclusivos restaurantes,
sitios de esparcimientos y de diversión nocturna, etc./
The rivers that flow through the area (Tomebamba,
Yanuncay, Machangara andTarqui) have given Cuenca the
nickname of the ‘city of four rivers.’ It is considered one of the
most beautiful urban districts in Ecuador. The city’s historic
district has beautiful colonial buildings, churches, squares
