A specialemphasis has been <strong>de</strong>dicated to reviewthe pros and cons of the shared and individualmodalities of child custody. Finally,we have inclu<strong>de</strong>d a <strong>de</strong>scription of severalsyndromes such as the Parental AlienationSyndrome, Malicious Parent Syndrome,and the Severe Interference Syndrome, aswell the late-onset False MemorySyndrome, provi<strong>de</strong>d their negative effecton the process of separation or divorce.Key words: Separation, Divorce, Jointcustody, Sole custody, Alienation ParentalSyndrome, Malicious Parent Syndrome,Severe Interference Syndrome, FalseMemory Syndrome.
