Con grandes desafíos por delante.
Decir que el mundo está cambiando, ya se
ha vuelto una constante. Hoy observamos
un dinamismo nunca visto, en el que la aceleración
que vivimos se transforma en un
cambio exponencial. Y ello se refleja en todo
lo que consumimos y hacemos, mientras la
cantidad de datos se duplica año tras año.
Hoy somos unos 7,5 mil millones de habitantes
en el mundo, de los cuales más de 4,5
mil millones utilizamos un teléfono celular y
unos 4 mil millones usan internet. Por eso, ya
se habla de la Globalización 4.0.
Es en este mundo que cada continente y
cada país enfrenta desafíos nunca antes imaginados:
la crisis climática, el flujo migratorio,
la disminución económica mundial o los
cambios en el consumo energético. Y en lo
económico, estamos viendo unas macrotendencias
bien interesantes. Se espera que
la economía global crezca un 3,6% en 2019,
cuando vemos que el crecimiento de Estados
Unidos y China podría disminuir, mientras
que los mercados emergentes retoman
el liderazgo.
Hablar de Venezuela en este contexto nos
lleva a señalar grandes diferencias muy
marcadas, inclusive con la región. Temas de

It is in this world that every continent and
every country faces challenges never before
imagined: the climate change, the migratory
flow, the global economic decline or changes
in energy consumption. And economically, we
are seeing some very interesting macro trends.
The global economy is expected to grow by
3.6% in 2019, where we see that growth in the
United States and China could decline, while
emerging markets resume leadership.
Talking about Venezuela in this context leads
us to point out very marked differences, even
within LATAM. Issues of connectivity and
transportation, food and nutrition, migration
and devaluation, are now everyday matters in
our conversation. But even more serious has
been the inflationary crisis that today adds up
to 15 consecutive months in one of the biggest
hyperinflations in history. 2018 also marked
the fifth consecutive year of declining gross
