L’identification taxonomique des macroalgues collectées à Mayotte a été réalisée au
CEVA, par Tristan LE GOFF. Pour cela, plusieurs ouvrages de référence ont été
utilisés :

Les identifications ont été conduites jusqu’au genre voire jusqu’à l’espèce. Bien
souvent, la connaissance du genre suffit pour étudier les voies de valorisation
existantes. Au total, 40 taxons ont été identifiés parmi lesquels 12 algues vertes, 7
algues brunes et 21 algues rouges dont 7 calcifiées et 14 non calcifiées (Tableau 7 et
document PDF Alguier.pdf).
Les planches d’algues collectées et séchées ont été compilées en un alguier dont
une copie est remise au SIEAM. Il permet notamment de mieux appréhender la taille
des différentes espèces identifiées.
