Barbara Hendricks, Présidente du Jury, Cantatrice<br />
— Diplômée en sciences, Barbara Hendricks s’est<br />
produite sur les plus grandes scènes d’opéra et a<br />
chanté sous la direction des chefs les plus prestigieux<br />
de notre époque. Son répertoire s’étend du<br />
baroque à la musique contemporaine, sans oublier<br />
le jazz. Elle a également lancé en 2006 son propre<br />
label, Arte Verum. Activiste infatigable pour la cause<br />
des droits humains, elle travaille pour le Haut-Commissariat<br />
de l’ONU pour les réfugiés depuis 1987 et<br />
en a été nommée Ambassadrice honoraire à vie en<br />
2007. Elle a joué dans La Bohême, de Luigi Comencini<br />
et Désengagement, d’Amos Gitai, et à été Jury<br />
au Festival de Cannes en 1999.<br />
Elle est la marraine du FIFDH depuis sa première<br />
édition.<br />
After receiving a bachelor of science, Barbara Hendricks<br />
made her debut in 1974. Since then, she has<br />
performed on the world’s biggest stages and has<br />
been directed by the most prestigious conductors<br />
of our time. Her vast repertoire spans from baroque<br />
to contemporary opera, concert, chamber music<br />
and jazz. She is one of today’s best-selling artists<br />
and has made more than 100 recordings. In 2006,<br />
she created Arte Verum, her own label. A devoted<br />
human rights activist, she is the UNHCR’s Honorary<br />
Ambassador for Life. She played for Luigi Comencini<br />
in La Bohême, and for Amos Gitaï in Disengagement.<br />
She was a member of jury at the Cannes<br />
International Film Festival in 1999. Barbara Hendricks<br />
has patronned the FIFDH since its very first edition.<br />
Plantu, Dessinateur de presse<br />
— Jean Plantureux, alias Plantu, publie son<br />
premier dessin sur la guerre du Vietnam dans Le<br />
Monde en 1972, avant d’en illustrer quotidiennement<br />
la une depuis 1985. Depuis 1991, il publie également<br />
une page hebdomadaire dans L’Express. La même<br />
année, il obtient le « Prix du document rare » au<br />
Festival du Scoop d’Angers, pour avoir fait apposer<br />
sur le même dessin les signatures de Yasser Arafat<br />
et Shimon Peres, un an avant les Accords d’Oslo. En<br />
2006, Plantu et le Secrétaire général de l’ONU Kofi<br />
Annan sont à l’origine de Cartooning for Peace, une<br />
association qui défend la liberté d’expression des<br />
dessinateurs de presse dans le monde entier et qui<br />
regroupe à ce jour 130 dessinateurs.<br />
His first published cartoon, on the Vietnam war,<br />
appears in Le Monde in 1972, for which he eventually<br />
became a daily illustrator in 1985. Since 1991, he has<br />
published a weekly page in L’Express. That same<br />
year, he received the “Rare document prize” from<br />
the Festival du Scoop d’Angers, for having succeeded<br />
in obtaining the signatures of Yasser Arafat<br />
and Shimon Peres on the same drawing, a year prior<br />
to the Oslo Agreements. In 2006, Plantu and Kofi<br />
Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations,<br />
founded Cartooning for Peace, an association<br />
currently made of 130 illustrators, which defends<br />
freedom of expression for cartoonists worldwide.<br />
Philippe Djian, Ecrivain<br />
— Philippe Djian est un romancier et nouvelliste<br />
français. Il est notamment l’auteur de 37,2 le<br />
matin, adapté au cinéma par Jean-Jacques Beinex,<br />
Incidences, adapté par les frères Larrieu sous le titre<br />
L’Amour est un crime parfait.<br />
Oh…, Prix Interallié 2012, est adapté en ce moment<br />
au cinéma par Paul Verhoven. Il est également<br />
le parolier de Stéphane Eicher et l’auteur de ses<br />
magnifiques titres en français, comme Déjeuner en<br />
paix, Pas d’ami comme toi ou encore Tu ne me dois<br />
rien. Audacieux et féru d’ailleurs, il a également<br />
signé un reportage sur l’armée et la guérilla en<br />
Colombie, et effectué un long séjour à New York et à<br />
Martha’s Vineyard. Son nouveau roman, Dispersezvous,<br />
ralliez-vous ! paraît en mars 2016.<br />
Philippe Djian is a French novelist many of his books<br />
have been adapted for the screen, such as 37,2 le<br />
matin (Betty Blue), directed by Jean-Jacques Beinex.<br />
He won the Interallié Prize in 2012 for his novel Oh...,<br />
currently adapted on screen by Paul Verhoven.<br />
As a lyricist for Swiss artist Stéphane Eicher, he associated<br />
himself with him during literary concerts.<br />
Audacious and nomadic, he also signed a report on<br />
the army and the guerilla in Colombia and set up<br />
long-term residences in both New York and Martha’s<br />
Vineyard. His new novel, Dispersez-vous, ralliez-vous !<br />
will be published in March 2016.
