The glint of the sun setting on Nettle Bay’s lagoon, right by his
childhood home, nursed Donovane’s earliest chips of passion for
the pictorial realm which would end up becoming his job. After
several stays in Guadeloupe for his studies – with the last one
contributing to fully igniting his passion for the 8th art – this young
photographer from St. Martin chose to settle on his native isle
and conquer a highly competitive field with unparalleled ease…
thanks to the profusion of feeling placed in every single one of his
pictures, from portraits to architecture, not to mention fashion or
weddings. And yet, it is his unconditional love for landscapes that
we chose to work out in view of taking an insider’s look into the
Friendly Island, severely impacted by a hurricane of unprecedented
strength yet, conducive to the fresh impetus now tangible across
the island… A most welcome invitation to (re)discover it.

Les reflets du soleil couchant sur le lagon de la Baie Nettlé au
bord duquel il grandit, esquissent chez Donovane les premiers
éclats d’une passion pour l’image vouée à devenir son métier.
Suite à plusieurs séjours d’études en Guadeloupe, dont le
dernier finira d’embraser la flamme portée au 8ème art, ce jeune
photographe saint-martinois élit rapidement domicile dans un
domaine créatif hautement compétitif qu’il parvient cependant
à percer avec aisance… Fort d’une sensibilité que retranscrivent
immanquablement ses clichés, du portrait à l’architecture, de la
mode aux mariages. C’est toutefois son amour inconditionnel pour
le paysage que nous avons souhaité solliciter en vue de poser un
regard renouvelé sur la Friendly Island, sévèrement touchée par
un ouragan d’une violence inouïe mais propice au souffle nouveau
qui la parcourt aujourd’hui… Une invitation bienvenue à la (re)
découverte.
